MSgt (Ret) Ramon Federico Sanchez
May 08, 1962 – April 17, 2022
Ramon F. Sanchez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Ramon was a 1980 graduate of Austin High School and a 2000 graduate of Wayland Baptist University. Ramon proudly served in the United States Air Force of over 23-years, followed by over 15-years of Civil Service.
Ramon had the gift of gab and could rattle off stats of his beloved Texans and Rangers like no one else. His love for his “Blue Angle” (1963 Chevy Truck) and for the wind in his face while riding his bike through the great state of Texas was, immeasurable. He was a tinkerer by nature. His love for cats was only outdone by the love he had for his son and family.
He is survived by his son Ramon F. Sanchez II (Rico) of San Marcos, TX, his parents Ramon and Ysela Sanchez of El Paso, TX, and his sisters Laura Rodriguez (Pete), Marcel Navarrete (John), Monica Rodriguez (Sam) of El Paso, TX.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. A Funeral Mass will begin at 9:30am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana Drive. Committal Service to follow at 11:00am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson, with full Honors.
