Ramona Jo “Mona” Goodwin passed away peacefully at the age of 76, on January 13, 2024, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on February 24, 1947, in Rockingham County, VA, Ramona was the daughter of the late Edward Allen Rexrode and Virginia Hope Turner Rexrode.
Ramona led a fulfilling life, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She dedicated herself to her family and friends, always putting their needs above her own. Mona pursued a successful career in Estate Sales Liquidation, where her passion and expertise shined.
In her spare time, Mona found joy in various hobbies. She had a voracious appetite for books, often losing herself in the pages of a captivating novel. Gardening was her therapy, as she nurtured beautiful flowers, plants and shrubs. Mona had an eye for timeless treasures, and her knowledge of antiques made her a sought-after advisor among collectors.
Mona enjoyed watching football and managing her fantasy football team. Her love extended beyond the human realm; she had a special fondness for cats and always found solace in their gentle presence.
Ramona’s legacy continues through her loved ones. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Goodwin of Mount Kisco, NY, her son Joseph Goodwin (Camille), and her beloved granddaughter, Kendall, of Holly Springs, NC. Mona is also mourned by her life partner, John Plassmann of Bedford, NY, as well as her sister, Reagan Dryfoos (Jim) of Deep River, CT and brother, Rex Turner Rexrode (Debbie) of Charlottesville, VA.
