Ramona Ihde

Ramona Rose "Mona"(Krom) Ihde, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in Salina, Kansas. Born on March 18, 1952, in Hoisington, Kansas, to Rosie Vernetta (Depperschmidt) and Robert Lee Krom. Mona brought joy and warmth to all who knew her throughout her remarkable life.

Mona was a devoted wife to her husband, David Harvey Ihde for 50 years, with whom she shared a loving partnership. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Candice Kopp and spouse Raymond Kopp and Heather (Ihde) Crane. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished her role as grandmother to Austin Beau Kopp, wife Amanda, Lindsey Hyland, Husband Adam, Ashley Ihde, Shelby Anderson, and Zale Anderson, as well as great-grandmother to Oliver Runnells and Hudson Hyland. Mona's siblings-her brother Robert Krom and sisters Roxann Helton and Rebecca Krom, along with her nieces and nephews--were also deeply important to her.

She was predeceased by her beloved son Leon Ihde and her parents Rosie and Robert Krom. Despite these losses, Mona's enduring spirit of love and care continued to shine brightly for those around her.

Mona had a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. She loved spending time in her backyard, finding peace and joy in the simple beauty of nature. A talented painter, she expressed herself through art with creativity and passion. Mona also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she embraced the excitement of the moment with her signature sass and energy.

Known for her caring heart and generous spirit, Mona was the caregiver of all. She ensured that no one went without while she was around and always made sure everyone had enough to eat-a testament to her nurturing nature. Her family fondly remembers her as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brought laughter and light into their lives.

Mona's legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on March 21, 2026, at 02:30 PM at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home 414 NW 3rd. After the service friends and family are invited for celebration of life dinner at Terrace Apartments 300 NE 21st.Street Abilene KS, Main food will be provided, you may bring a dessert or snack your choice. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
