Ramona Nicholson Obituary
Ramona was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a gentle, caring spirit that made people feel instantly welcomed and valued. She was thoughtful and had a kind spirit. She had a deep love for her flowers, Aaron Rodgers, and found joy in sunbathing. Ramona loved music and dancing, where she felt most at peace. More than anything, she loved her family at the Gilmer County Senior Center where she worked for more than 29 years, and loved helping and giving to others.
She leave behind a family who cherished her deeply. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Ray Sumpter and wife Tina of Stanley, VA; daughter Angel Dawn Nicholson of Fairmont, WV; son George Michael Simmons and partner Tiffany Day of Glenville, WV; grandchildren Kenneth M. Sumpter, Candas Sumpter, Ava Simmons, Cooper Simmons, and Gage Simmons; great-grandson Miller Lee Foltz; and her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Gilmer County Senior Center for a Celebration of Her Life on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Gilmer County Senior Center, 730 N. Lewis St., Glenville, WV 26551 in memory of Ramona Nicholson.
