Ramona Carol Stevens
Ramona Carol Stevens went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2025, at the age of 90.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Allie, her husband Velton (Steve), sister Patricia, and son-in-law Paul Hockett.
Ramona was born on June 2,1934 in Hartshorne, OK to Jim and Allie Nelson. She attended Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, NM and married the love of her life, Velton Ray Stevens in 1952. She is survived by their 3 children: Linda Hockett, Tommy (Jackie) Stevens and Jimmy Stevens (Valerie). 8 Grandchildren: Sarah, Steven, Stephanie, Ryan, Lilli, Daniel, Brandon, and Tyler and by 17 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild and brother Gary (Mary) Nelson.
Ramona was known by friends and family as "Carol". She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and loved by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren who knew her as Grams. She loved dancing with her husband Steve; spending time with family members; camping, travel and supporting her husband in the NM National Guard. She was a homemaker, enjoyed crafting and loved her poodles.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any Veteran's organizations.
