William Stevens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peel Funeral Home - Bonifay on Mar. 13, 2026.
William Harry "Bill" Stevens passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Southeast Health hospital in Dothan, Alabama.

He was born to Ward Vernon Stevens and Enola Pauline Baker/Stevens on May 6,1937, in Sturgis, Michigan. He had 11 brothers and sisters.

Bill graduated from Bristol High School and was one of the best athletes they had in basketball, pole vaulting, and track. Pictures are in the Bristol High School Museum in Indiana.

Bill met Judith Kaye "Judy" Lower while they were still in high school. They were married June 28, 1958, just after she graduated.

Bill worked for NIBCO Manufacturing in Indiana.

They left Indiana in the 1970's to move to Pompano Beach, Florida, where he had a lawn service business, shortly before moving to Sebring, Florida.

While living in Sebring, Bill worked for Judy's father Frank and her brother Gary at Turtle Top Van Conversions, then with Better Roads asphalt company; later he worked with his son William "Billy" Stevens at Billy's Custom Golf Carts, Inc. as a salesman, where he earned Top Salesman of the Year Award.

Bill always had a job to provide the best he could for his family and would do anything for anyone before doing it for himself. He was liked and loved by many. He enjoyed fishing, small engine repair, and watching wrestling on tv.

They moved to Bonifay, Florida, in 2004 to be closer to their daughter Robyn and her children.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy; his parents Ward and Enola Stevens; brothers Ward Jr., Mickey, Jack, Richard "Butch"; sisters Betty, Pauline, and Nancy; two infant children Norma Jane Stevens and Mark William Stevens; and his grandson John Steven Lawrence.

Bill is survived by his children Robyn Stevens of Bonifay, Sue Stevens of Bonifay, Stephanie (Bart) Miller of Ruskin, and his son William "Billy" (Michele) Stevens of Bonifay. He leaves eight loving grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Other survivors include his sisters Becky, Gail, Rita, and his brother Rick, all in Indiana.
