Randa Gale

DEFIANCE - Randa J. Gale, age 71 of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026, at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio.

She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on August 31, 1954 to Ralph and Rose (Guerin) Brown. Randa is a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. She loved her career as an OB/GYN nurse at Defiance Hospital, delivering babies for 43 years.

Randa was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, and Defiance AmVets #1991. She enjoyed trips to Florida, spending time on the beach, and going for walks. Randa loved horses and her dog Zeus. She adored her grandchildren and treasured her time caring for her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and many good friends.

Randa is survived by her mother, Rose Brown of Defiance, her daughters, Melanie (Robert) Cameron and Melissa Hauser, all of Defiance, and her grandchildren, Kolton McCloud of Defiance, Elizabeth (Blake) Hattemer of New Bavaria, Miranda McCloud, Mackenzie Cameron, Thomas Cameron and Macey Cameron, all of Defiance. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Jeff (Kathy) Brown, Cindi Brown, Denise Brown, and Scott Brown, all of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Brown, and granddaughter, Mattie Jo Cameron.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson-Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 6 at the funeral home, with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating. Randa will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, with military honors conducted by VFW #3360.
