Randall "Randy" S. Anderson, 69, Blaine, MN, passed away at home on October 29, 2025. He was born May 26, 1956, to Robert and Dorothy (Phippen) Anderson in Mounds View, MN.
Randy attended Irondale High School in New Brighton, MN, graduating in 1974. He was an outstanding athlete. He was the MVP on their basketball team, played baseball, and was the quarterback of his football team for a brief time. Randy attended St. Paul College for Electronic Technology. He held many jobs throughout his lifetime. After high school, Randy began working as a sodbuster at Ray Jordan & Sons. He retired as a semi-driver for Morrell Transfer.
Randy met Colleen at her Anderson family reunion (no relation to Randy at the time). Colleen's cousin, Ronnie, introduced the two. They didn't kick it off right away, but seven years after a close friendship, they finally fell in love and were married on October 4, 1986. The couple made their home in Blaine, MN. They had four sons: Brian, Kevin, Brent, and Justin.
Randy loved the outdoors. He and Colleen loved hunting and fishing so much that they went on a duck hunting/fishing trip for their honeymoon. Randy introduced his kids to the outdoors, taking them camping and fishing quite often throughout their childhoods. He played 3-man basketball with some of his friends after high school and played on a couple softball teams for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Colleen; sons, Brian (Holly) Anderson, Kevin (Summer) Anderson, Brent Anderson, and Justin Anderson; grandchildren, Serena, Nathan, Johnny, and one on the way; brother, Richard; and sisters, Sherry, Cindy, and Kelly.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Fridley. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 6 at Harris Township Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MN.
