Randall Wayne (Moose) Belz, known to most as Moose, age 64, of Elgin, TX, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
Born on October 31, 1960, Randy lived a life defined by devotion—to his faith, his family, and his friends. He was known for his generous spirit, strong work ethic, and the unwavering love he showed to everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Randy married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Carolyn Ging, on March 21, 1981. Together they built a life full of laughter, resilience, and enduring love over 44 beautiful years.
Professionally, Randy dedicated over three decades of his life to the natural gas industry, beginning his career in 1992 with what was then Aquila and later became Energy Transfer. He served in various roles throughout the years but was most notably respected for his work as a Gas Control Operator. His knowledge, calm demeanor, and commitment to excellence earned him the admiration of his colleagues and the respect of his peers.
He was a proud father to Ryan Belz and wife Shannon, Brandon Belz and wife Kelliana, and Megan Thompson and husband James. He found his greatest joy in being “Popo” to his cherished grandchildren: Jaxon, Gavin, Christian, Amelia, Joanna, Madelyn, Sadie, and Heidi, each of whom brought light and pride to his life.
Randy is also survived by his loving mother, Barbara Belz; his brother Ricky Belz and wife Julie; and a host of extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Belz, whom he honored and spoke of often with love and respect.
Randy’s presence, humor, and wisdom will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His legacy lives on in the strength of his family and the countless lives he touched.
