Mr. Randall Godwin, 85, of Adel, Georgia, passed away april 11, 2014 at his home. He was born January 24, 1929, in Adel, to the late William Edward Godwin, Sr. and Zola Ella Barker Godwin. He was a lifelong resident of Cook County, a retired farmer and a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. Mr. Godwin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Durand and Cynthia Godwin of Adel; three daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda Sellers of Moultrie, Georgia, Karen and Dwight Stalvey of McDononugh, Georgia, and Sherry and Richard Brady of Nashville, Georgia; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Robbie Nell Ferrin of Arizona and Lucille Lee of Hilliard, Florida; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Godwin of Adel; and two brothers-in-law: Howard Cason of Albany, Georgia, and James Phillips of Fitzgerald, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ellen Pafford Godwin. Mr. Godwin's family received friends Sunday April 13, 2014 from 4 until 7 pm at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service took place Monday April 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at Antioch United Methodist Church with Rev. Raymond Cason officiating. Interment followed the service at the church cemetery. Johnnie Lou Ellenberg played the piano and Ellen Wiggins sang "In the Garden" and "Shall We Gather at the River;" the congregation sang "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus." Marshall Hall, Clabe Hall, Chris Godwin, Lee Godwin, Cameron Godwin, and Brian Harrell served as active pallbearers; Leroy Howell, Morris Whittle, William "PeeWee" Dorminey, Terry Wright, Ernest Flowers, and Richard Ellenberg served as honorary pallbearers.
