Randall Lee "Randy" Hales ObituaryRandall Lee Hales (Randy), 60, from Mound, MN, passed away on August 5, 2025. He was born on May 20, 1965, the son of Chuck and Carol Hales at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Randy grew up in a household with 5 siblings in Fridley, Minnesota. After high school he attended Bemidji State University graduating with a degree in accounting. After which he was employed by Hales Machine Tool, a family business begun by his father and his older brother, Dan. He was employed there for 35 years as Sales Manager for the company, eventually becoming a part-owner of the company with his two brothers.
From a youth and throughout his life he found great enjoyment in fishing and hunting. A highlight of this passion was going on an African Safari Hunt with his dad in 2009.
He is survived by his children, Josie and Marina, and their mother, Rena (former spouse). Other survivors are his mother, Carol, his brother, Tim, his 3 sisters, Pam, Sue and Julie, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Scout. He was preceded in death by a sister who died in infancy, Patty, his father, Chuck, and his older brother, Dan.
He was a generous and loving father, son, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gillespie Center (2590 Commerce Blvd., Mound, MN 55364). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22 at 12:00 PM with a lunch following.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Friends of the Boundary Waters, National Parks Foundation, Minnesota Recreation & Park Foundation, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited or Underdog Rescue MN.
