Randall L. Kirby, 68, of Bluefield, Va passed away on September 19, 2024.
Randall is now singing with the angels. Through out Randall’s battle with cancer being the man that he was he showed, dignity, compassion, and love to everyone. He fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith.
Randall was a lead singer at Deliverance Temple Church. Through out the years he traveled and sang gospel music with his family, simply known as The Kirby Family. His songs comforted many people. The last gospel song Randall learned was “If I Got Jesus-by Ben Fuller.” Randall is now where he longed to be, reunited with his wife, child, and family. No more pain, heartache, or suffering. He will truly be missed by his fellow singers, musicians, and church family.
Since Randall’s journey of sickness, we appreciate the love, concern, and help from all his neighbors and friends at Riverbend Estates.
For many years Randall was the owner of Kirby’s paint and body shop. When he closed his shop, he started work at Pemco Corporation in Bluefield, VA. His buddies at work were his second family.
Randall is preceded in death by his wife Sharon Kirby and child, parents Walter and Gladys Kirby, sister Connie Poore, brothers, Ken Kirby, Larry Kirby, and Dennie Kirby.
He is survived by 4 people who he treated as his own children. Jason Roten (Christy), Justin Riley (Tiffany), Brandon Riley (Courtney), and Sheena Fisher (Jody). Randall was known as poppy by their children.
He was close to his family who he sang gospel music with for approximately 50 years, brothers Tom Kirby (Marie), Fred Kirby (Brenda), his Pastor David Kirby (Margaret), and sister Sis Lusk (David). Randall by loved by his sister’s in-laws, Betty and Terri Kirby.
We appreciate the nurses on the CCU floor at WVU Medicine in Princeton and especially Sheena Johnson and Stacy Jones for all their help in getting him home. We would also like to thank the Hospice nurses Courtney and Amanda for their care and support.
