Randall “Randy” Shaw Carter, Jr., age 77 of Chatsworth, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Advent Health Murray County Hospital

Randy was born on February 20, 1948 in Gordon County, GA, son of the late Randall Shaw Carter, Sr. and Mildred Mooney Carter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Barton Carter; and sister, Sandra Tate.

Randy is survived by: his wife, Gayle Young Carter; four children, Derek Carter and his wife Jessica, Brian Carter, Christie Ponders and her husband Timmy, and Chad Hall and his wife Brandy; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 12 PM until 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Services to celebrate the life of Randy will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Jason Chambers and Ron Barton officiating.
