Randall Raybuck Obituary

Randall Raymond "Buck" Raybuck, age 72, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at his home in Leeper.

Born December 27, 1952, in Jefferson County, he was the son of the late Francis D. Raybuck and Mary Lou Plyler Shick; and stepson of the late Bernard W. Shick.

A graduate of Brookville High School, Class of 1970, Randy sang Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" at graduation.

He excelled as a varsity football player and record-making wrestler.

He briefly attended Slippery Rock University.

Randy was a true sales professional and spent most of his career with Boscov's, as a Corporate Regional Sales Manager.

A proud biker and longtime member of ABATE, he was a Harley rider until the end with his antique Harley-Davidson golf cart.

He found joy in fishing, sharing the experience with family, friends and neighbors.

Randy enjoyed his friendships within the Amish community and was fond of watching wildlife from his view of the Clarion River.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie (Jesse) Mitchell; grandson, Gavyn Mitchell; siblings Lynne Shaffer, Pam Yates (Jim), Sandy Raybuck (Dave), Connie Moore, John Shick (Kristin), Theresa Shick, Bill Shick (Johnnette) and Elizabeth McManigle (James); his aunt, Rose Slike; stepson, Kris Sterling; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his loyal canine companion, Bob, whom he loved dearly.

Reflections from his daughter…

"My Dad made friends wherever he went - friends he held close through every chapter of his life. Thank you for being part of his journey. I'm grateful he was surrounded by family in his later years. Dad loved you all. He never let me forget how proud he was of me, saying I was the best piece of him. Thank you, Dad, for loving me, Jesse and Gavyn with your whole heart. Fly High & Ride On."

A casual drop-in gathering to celebrate Randy's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sigel Civic Center, located at 120 Schoolhouse Road in Sigel.

Arrangements are at the direction of the Carrier Funeral Home of Brookville.

I remember Randy singing bridge over troubled water at our graduation. He was missed so much at our recent class reunion which he had wanted to attend to see his classmates. If I remember right he even rode the same school bus I did from Sigel. Everytime I have been out that way I think of him and his sister Lynne when I drive past where they lived . Lifting you your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mary Lou & family: so very sorry for your loss. It´s a scary thing to have to face our children being this age and losing them. We both got an early start, so it´s to be expected but no one is ever ready. I hope memories will be of comfort. He is with Francie & Joe now & at peace. Hoping all is well with you.
Sincerely, Carole Shaffer Miller
