Randall "Randy" Reid, 65, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2025, doing what he loved-tinkering with his toys. Randy was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Howard Reid and Doris (Hawkins) Wilhelm. He graduated from Granite City High School and proudly served his country as a United States Marine, an identity and brotherhood he carried with deep pride throughout his life. For over 40 years, Randy dedicated his career to welding. He built hundreds of water towers across the country. He was extremely proud of the structures he built, but even more so of the friendships he formed along the way. Randy loved sharing his hard-earned knowledge and consulting on projects long after his days in the field. His work took him to nearly every state, and he often combined his passion for building with his love of the open road, riding his Harley on some of the country's most memorable rides. Randy had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and a gift for storytelling that could fill a room with laughter. He was loyal and someone you could always count on. His greatest joy in life was his daughter, Summer, who was truly the light of his world. Outside of work, Randy loved riding his Harleys, shooting guns, boating with friends on the Lake of the Ozarks, and spending time with his beloved dog, Jack Jack, and cat, Tiger Kitty. He was also a lifelong car enthusiast, especially proud of his Corvette. His garage was his sanctuary, filled with tools, laughter, and the next project. He was preceded in death by his son, Cyle Reid; father, Howard Reid; mother, Doris Wilhelm; sister, Christine Reid; stepfather, George "Bud" Wilhelm; and stepmother, Jerilyn Reid. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Summer Reid Treas, and her husband, Jack; his faithful dog, Jack Jack, and cat, Tiger Kitty; several loved stepsiblings; and many friends who were like family. Randy will be laid to rest alongside his son, Cyle, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois. A military service honoring his life and service will be held later this year in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
