Randall Roy Saxton, 76, passed away at his home with his children by his side on March 14, 2026.
Randy was born on December 30, 1949 to Lyle and Bette Whitt Saxton. He was the third child of five born and raised in Smithfield, Utah. He graduated from Sky View High School in 1968. After school he served a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California South mission and Las Vegas from 1969-1971.
The Sunday of his homecoming talk he met his eternal companion, and sweetheart Jeanine Bird. They were married September 24, 1971 and later sealed for time and all eternity on January 12, 1973 in the Logan Temple. Shortly after marriage he enlisted in the National Guard and served 1971-1978. Mom and Dad have 5 children, Cory Saxton, Kerry Saxton (Wendy), Jill Smith (Jeremey), JR Saxton (Charisse) and Leslie Knecht (Nick). Dad has 14 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with one coming this October. He served in the bishopric for the Utah State college singles ward.
Dad worked with his family business, International Housing Division, all his life. He truly loved being able to work with his father Lyle, brothers Bob and Jeff. He loved building homes and using his hands to create many fond memories. When Mom got sick dad partially retired to care and love for her before her passing on May 24, 1998. He married Marlene Weston on November 11, 2000.
He is survived by his loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brother Jeff Saxton (Joelda) Sister Mary Ann Adams, cousins and great friends! He is preceded in death by his parents, His older brother Bob, his younger sister Autumn and his sweetheart Jeanine, who has been waiting with open arms to bring him home to heaven. - CUNAYL - We would like to thank the incredible hospice team, Kellianne, Hannah and Darron for all the love and support for Dad. A funeral service for Randy will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 11:00 am at White Pine Funeral Services, 753 S 100 E in Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 am. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at White Pine. The interment will be at the Smithfield City Cemetery.
