Randall William "Randy" Van Dee, 61, of Brooklyn, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at UnityPoint-Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Vining. Visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Randall was born on October 27, 1964, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of John and Betty (Garringer) Van Dee.

He graduated from South Tama High School in 1983 and received an Auto/Diesel Mechanic Degree at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa.

On July 7, 2007, he was united in marriage to Dena Antons at Holiday Lake in Brooklyn, Iowa. Randy was employed as a Portable Mechanic at In Roads of Des Moines.

Randy went on ice fishing trips every year and enjoyed NASCAR, grilling and smoking meats. He was a dedicated worker and enjoyed times with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Dena of Brooklyn; three children, Kyle Van Dee of Holiday Lake, Brooklyn, Jordan Antons of Grinnell, and Ryanne Van Dee of Brooklyn; his mother, Betty Van Dee of Vining; five siblings, Rick (Sue) Van Dee of Tama, Shirley (Larry) Jacobs of Toledo, B.J. (Dan) Monroe of Iowa City, Rusty (Cindy) Van Dee of Chelsea, and Jill Van Dee Apfel (Todd) of Vining; brother-in-law, Doug Horne of Chelsea; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Van Dee; two brothers, Roger Van Dee, and Ryan Van Dee; and sister, Karol Horne.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
