Randall B Vanderbeek, MD, passed away on the evening of November 25, 2025 at Givens Health Care.

Born in Saginaw, Michigan on December 16, 1937 to the late Bernard and Genevieve (TerHaar) Vanderbeek, Randall grew up in Michigan and West Virginia. He attended Duke University and Duke Medical School, interned in Seattle and was drafted into the US Navy before returning to Duke for his residency. He practiced Urology in Asheville for 30 years.

Randall is survived by his wife of 65 years Patricia (Patti), sister Nancy of Athens Ga and three daughters; Lynne Mayer (Brian) and Kristen O'Buckley (Mike) of Asheville and Elizabeth Graham (Doug) of Knoxville. Also surviving are seven adored grandchildren, Patrick, Michael, Gabrielle, Parker, David, Adam and Anna.

After retirement, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, ABCCM and the N.C. Arboretum. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Toxaway and loved taking friends and family on boat rides.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and details will be announced once they are complete. Groce Funeral Home's Lake Julian team is assisting the family.
