Dewain Vanderbeek, age 91, of Sebeka, MN died peacefully in his home surrounded by family early on February 16, 2026. Dewain was born in Stuart, Nebraska on April 21, 1934. He joined the military in January of 1953. Dewain married the love of his life, Latrelle Burrell on June 26, 1957. They moved to Minnesota in 1973 after his military retirement in August. They ran their farm southeast of Sebeka together for many years and still reside there today.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Latrelle Vanderbeek; sister, Velma Segar; brother, Alex Vanderbeek; children: Dawn (Dave) Peterson, Sherrie (Tim) Stockwell, Crystal (Paul) Tigges, and Rishell (Merlyn) Johnson; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, two sons and a great grandchild.
We will not be having a public funeral. Dewains wishes were to be burried privately by family at a later date.
