Randall "Randy" Dean Wolfe, 79, of Lakin, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 20, 1945, in Norton, Kansas.
Randy was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, the late Leanna Kay (Yates) Wolfe, whom he married in Norton on June 6,1965. Together, they built a life centered on faith, love, and service. Leanna preceded him in death in 2018, after 53 years of marriage.
Above all, Randy was a proud and loving father to his two amazing daughters, Jodi Wolfe Ashbaugh and Kayla Wolfe Snyder. He took great joy in their achievements, and they were a constant source of support and love for him.
An educator at heart, Randy spent many years as a teacher in the Hays and Lakin School systems, where he touched the lives of countless students. He worked for Reagan Realty and Outreach classes for GCCC. After retirement, he worked for SDSI. He had a unique ability to inspire those he taught and coached.
Randy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lakin, where he actively participated in the church community. He also enjoyed being involved in local activities. He was a member of KNEA, Lions Club, Methodist Men, Kansas School Counselor Association and currently the Bronc Stampede committee. He was always ready to support his neighbors and lend a helping hand.
Randy is survived by his two daughters: Jodi Lynne Ashbaugh (Mike) and Kayla Sue Snyder (Tray), his grandchildren: Ashton and Aaron Heft, Erin Ashbaugh, Chayde Snyder, Bryce Ashbaugh, and Breckyn Snyder, and new great granddaughter, Leah Kay Heft. He is also survived by his sister, Rosalie (Wolfe) McMullen and his sister, Rovella (Wolfe) LeCount and many extended family members and friends.
Randy was proceeded in death by his wife Leanna, his parents, father, Dale E. Wolfe and mother, Dorothy Maxine (Bieghler) Wolfe and his brother, Richard Dale Wolfe.
He will be remembered as a man of strength, deep faith, a compassionate educator, and an avid sports fan who left a lasting impact on those around him.
A celebration of Randy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Lakin Methodist Church in Lakin, Kansas, with Rev. Elizabeth Winger Young officiating.
