Randy Johnson, Fire, Coach J., and Dad left this earth to enter paradise on March 12, 2024.
Randy was born to Eugene and Joan Johnson in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 7, 1954. Randy's childhood was spent creating wonderful memories and stories with his parents and siblings. Julie (Danny) Gill, Carla Vandever, and Mike (Kellie) Johnson.
Coach J. was given many gifts, but athleticism and dedication led him to his career in football. Beginning at Southern Utah State College, continuing to the Montreal Alouettes, and finishing with a successful coaching career as a beloved high school football coach in northern Utah.
Fire married Michelle (Lyman) Johnson on June 2, 1983. They lived the majority of their lives in Syracuse, Utah, raising their two daughters, Kara (Ryan) Lewis and Bailey (Alex) Grayson.
Dad worked diligently to create an ideal home and life for his three girls; his girls want him to know that he accomplished that and more for them. Mom and his two “dollies” still and will always absolutely love and adore him.
Randell Thomas Johnson will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones and friends.
Randy’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. All are welcome to visit from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
