My sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to the entire Sturrup family for the loss of their very wise patriarch. Dr. Sturrup served as the orthodontist to my family for many years during his tenure in Houston. He was an excellent professional and a man of intellectual curiosity and profound wisdom. He was ahead of his time! May he rest in peace from a journey well served.

I´m so sorry to hear the news of Dr Sturrup. I worked for him for 5 years in Longview & Tyler before I had my son. He always said I would only have boys even before we started our family and once again he was right, now I have 3 boys He was one of my favorite people! Such a Godly man that taught me so much about God, Patience, Health & Life! I looked up to him & he was always so positive, patient, & had the BEST STORIES ! Heaven sure did gain an amazing Angel ! My prayers are with the family!

I worked for Dr. Sturrup for 10 years in Tyler and Longview. I was inexperienced in orthodontics at the time and he took a chance on me. That chance he gave me started my career in the orthodontic field and also turned into a friendship.
Dr. Sturrup taught me invaluable life lessons that I will keep with me forever. He was such a kind, gentle, positive, and beyond intellectual friend and I will never forget him.
My life is better for knowing him. I just got word of this very sad news today. My prayers go out to Mrs. Juanita and family.
Rest in peace Dr. Sturrup. You were truly one of a kind.
