Randy Cumbo Obituary


Randy F. Cumbo, 70, of Bardin, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital following a brief illness.
Randy was born in Grundy, Virginia, and had been a lifelong resident of Putnam County, growing up in Hollister and later living for most of his life in Bardin.
He was a 1973 graduate of Interlachen High School, where he excelled in sports, including football, baseball, track and wrestling. He retired from the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Palatka, where he had been promoted to supervisor over the kraft paper machines. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, along with going to flea markets, yardwork, and gardening. He was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Gloria Jean Cumbo; a son, Tommy Cumbo; his parents, Clarence and Lockie Cumbo; and a brother, Ronald Cumbo.
Surviving are his wife of three years, Melissa Cumbo; and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; two sons, Jason Cumbo and wife, CeCe, and Justin Cumbo and wife, Penny; a granddaughter, Dacey Cumbo and partner, Danny Garcia; two brothers, Richard Cumbo and wife, Fern, and Ray Cumbo and partner, Tina Fryer; a great-grandson, Samuel Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 6–8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Litzell and Missionary Jody Crain officiating. Burial will follow in Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin.
Friends may sign the online register at: themastersfuneralhome.com. Flowers are gratefully accepted, or memorial gifts may be sent in Randy's name to Open Bible Baptist Church, 124 Old San Mateo Road, East Palatka, FL 32131.
