Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations - Kinston on Mar. 30, 2026.
Kinston- Randy Fred Dixon, 66, peacefully entered his eternal home on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate Randy's life will be held at Freedom Fellowship Church, on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, 11 AM, with Pastor Steve Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Additional times of visitation will be held at the residence of Stevie and Cindy Dixon, at 637 Winchester Road, Kinston, NC 28504.

Born on February 28, 1960, in Star, North Carolina, Randy was the son of John and Mildred Shaw Dixon. He faithfully served his community as a meat cutter at local grocery stores for over 18 years. Randy was an avid outdoorsman whose appreciation for God's creation was evident in his love of fishing, camping, and hunting. A lifelong member of the Star Pentecostal Church, he found great joy in spending time with his family, friends for LaGrange Village, and his beloved canine companions, Dingo and Belle.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Jackie Greene Dixon; his brother, David Benson Dixon; and his sister, Kathy Adcock.

He is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Dixon of Kinston; his son, Randall Scott Dixon of LaGrange; his grandsons, Jaden Wall and Mason Dixon of Asheboro, NC; and his brother, Stevie Dixon and wife Cindy of Kinston.

The Dixon family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the compassionate care shown to Randy during his time there.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Freedom Fellowship Church, 469 Joe Nunn Rd, Kinston, NC 28504, or the Lenoir County SPCA at 3200 US-258, Kinston, NC 28504.
