Randy Estes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels Chapel of the Roses Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. - Santa Rosa on Feb. 21, 2026.
These are Randy's own words. He said, "If his story was going to be told, it was going to be told by him."

Randy was born on November 21, 1967 to Reynold and Joyce Patricia Ann Estes in Oakland California at the Oakland Naval Hospital where his father was stationed. Randy later followed that path of serving our country. Randy was the youngest of four siblings --Regina Estes, Darrell Estes, and Yolanda Estes.

Randy also excepted and acknowledged Lord Jesus Christ as his savior early on in life. Randy graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School 1985 in Long Beach, California. Soon after graduating Randy signed up for the United States Marine Corps and served as a Marine from 1985-1993.

Before deployment Randy married Tangla Evyonne (Miller). From that union was born Randy Jr. Randy is preceded in death by his parents Reynold Estes and Joyce Patricia Ann Estes and his sister Yolanda Estes. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his loving fiancé Victoria Hernandez, who has been by his side for 14 years, his sister Regina Estes, nephew Lamont, niece Raphael, his brother Darrell Estes, his son, Randy Jr., and two grandchildren Joddy Estes and Iyanna Estes. He also leaves his Aunt Shirleen and a host of cousins, family members and friends.

After his tour of duty with an honorable discharge, he established his career in management working for various trucking companies such as Yellow Freight Trucking and GI Trucking out of Long Beach, California. After numerous years in management, Randy chose to change career direction. He went to school to become a professional bus operator where he excelled and worked for various companies -- Silverado Stages, Loop Corp., all of Long Beach.

In 2015 he moved to Northern California with his cousin Elbert and his family. He applied for and was hired with Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District. From April 2016 to his transition in 2026 Randy always spoke highly of GGT management and his fellow co-workers.

Randy was a team player but had his own strong opinions. He enjoyed playing ping pong and would never turn down a game. Randy had a special love and connection with two of his closest friends, Robert Eggert, better known as Hot Sauce and La Tecia Neeley-Johnson better known as Ms. T.
