Randy Arnold George

Randy Arnold George, 68, of Park Rapids, went to his heavenly home on March 9, 2026. He spent his last couple of weeks at home, where he passed with his wife by his side. After a very complicated battle with leukemia, he finally attained peace and comfort.

Randy was born in Park Rapids on June 13, 1957 to Arnold and Patricia (DeMaris) George. He was the middle of five children growing up in Hibbing graduating with the class of 1975. He married Diane Schmid on July 5, 1975. To this union two children were born, Amy Marie and Ryan David. As a young man, Randy worked first for Dahl’s bakery, and went on to become the manager at Red Owl Bakery. Choosing a different career path, he attended Wadena Technical College and graduated in 1991 with a Journeyman Lineman Certificate. He started working for Itasca Mantrap in 1988, retiring after 35 years, in 2023. Always liking to keep busy, he took a job driving school bus until he was unable to continue.

Randy enjoyed his morning coffee with friends, hunting, fishing, yearly trips with his family. He also spent a lot of time on his hunting land, enjoying the peace and solace of nature. He also found comfort in his relationship with the Lord, and regularly attended Faithbridge Church. Randy was a person who could fix anything; whether it be plumbing, electrical, woodworking, vehicles… He would persist until he figured it out. A few words to describe Randy are: hard working, intelligent and determined. He was dedicated to his family and friends; always available to help those he loved. He will be missed by many. Randy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diane George of Park Rapids; his children, Amy Heinzen and Ryan George, both of Moorhead; siblings, Beverly (Dennis) Wright of Osage, Connie Akins of Park Rapids, Pam (Jeff) Howard of Burnsville and Tom (Tracy) George of Punta Gorda, FL; in -laws, Leo and Lois Schmid of Park Rapids; honorary brother and friend, Jeff Siever of Park Rapids; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Randy is preceded in death by his parents; and niece, Tara Atkins.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home, 608 Park Ave S, Park Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 11 am at Faithbridge Church, 1505 Park Ave S, Park Rapids, with Pastor Jeff Lange officiating. A reception will follow. Additional Visitation one hour prior to the service. Randy will be laid to rest at Osage-Riverside Cemetery at 2pm. Pallbearers will be Jeff Siever, Steve Kuriatnyk, Tim Williams and Patrick Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Randy’s nieces and nephews.
