Randy James Glosser, 68, of Grinnell, Iowa, died on March 4, 2025. Randy was born to Mabel Lorene (Helmick) and Faris Judson (Jake) Glosser on June 17, 1956. He was raised on the family dairy farm outside of Blakesburg, Iowa.
On the farm, Randy was taught to work hard. He learned to farm, milk, and be a grease monkey at an early age. His farm hand name was Hot-Shot.
Randy graduated from Blakesburg High School in 1974, the first graduating class in the new school. Randy went on to earn a degree in Industrial Arts from William Penn (Class of 1978).
He married Christine Jo Geyer, to this marriage was added Brandi Lynn and Brittany Jo.
Randy then married Lori Ann (Brown) Gant on June 15, 1997. Together they raised their four wonderful daughters: Brandi Lynn, Brittany Ann, Brooke Ann, and Brittany Jo.
Randy worked for Truitt Abstract of Ottumwa for 34 years.
Randy was a man of great faith. He was a faithful member of the Grinnell Nazarene Church, until it's closure in 2024. He was a board member, as well as a song leader. Through the church, Randy mentored several young people; in this way Randy was a father figure to the fatherless.
Randy loved worship music, one of his favorite being, "Days of Elijah". He was an avid woodworker. He loved to draw and paint. He would use his artistic abilities much to the delight of his friends and family. He even illustrated some children's books for his daughter Brandi. He loved to cook fresh veggies from his garden. Randy was a man who enjoyed conversations around coffee.
Randy loved becoming a grandpa. He was the beloved, Papa Randy. Papa Randy was known by his 17 grandkids for making homemade pizza and greeting cards for birthdays and holidays. He loved to decorate birthday cakes, especially Angel Food Cakes.
Though Randy passed entirely too early from this life, due to cancer, we know without a doubt, Randy lives in Heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In John 11:25-26, Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
Randy is survived by loving wife, Lori, daughters Brandi Lynn (Wayne) Parsons of Cedar Rapids; Brittany Ann (Michael) Grim of Fort Dodge; Brooke Ann (Tim) Soukup of Ottawa, Ks; and Brittany Jo (James) Blake of Pretty Prairie, Ks, Mother In Law, Betty Brown; Siblings: Linda Glosser, Gary (Alice) Glosser, Candy (Forrest) Rook; In-Laws: Francene Graves, DewAnn Glosser, Kevin (Miriam) Brown, Kent (Jill) Brown, and Mark (Denise) Brown; Grandchildren: Meredith Soukup, Liberty Blake, Isaiah Grim, Lexie Grim, Victoria "Tori" Parsons, Elijah "Eli" Grim, Easton Parsons, Logan Morrison, Asher Grim, Wyatt Morrison, Laura Belle Blake, Avery Morrison, Lydia Grim, Fantasia "Tay" Blake, Remington Blake, and Hannah Blake.
