Frederick G. Glosser, 85, of Clarion, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024 at the Clarion Hospital.
He was born September 9, 1939 in Shippenville, PA to the late Frederick S. and Margaret (Cowles) Glosser.
Fred graduated with the last class to graduate from the old Farmington High School, (Now North Clarion High School) in Leeper, Pa with the class of 1957. He married the former Martha Kiefer on March 26, 1960 and she survives.
Fred began working at Rea Wholesale in 1957. The company then became Sorce, Inc. and he spent over 41 years there. He worked his way up from warehouse worker to Vice President of Credit. He retired in December 1998. Following his retirement he and his wife began a second career spending 22 years volunteering at Clarion Hospital. They both made many wonderful friends while there. They worked on the East Wing patient floor and in the Pharmacy.
Fred's hobbies were woodworking, gardening, and keeping his house and property in excellent shape.
Fred's favorite things to do were spending time with his family and to help people with anything he could and he loved to tease people.
Fred and his wife worshipped at Trinity Point Church of God (formerly Liberty Street Church of God) during their 64+ years of their marriage. Fred served on numerous committees and boards, including chairperson of the Board of Trustees the Building Committee in the 1970's. Along with his wife they coordinated the 50+ Group for over 20 years.
Fred is survived by his wife Martha Glosser of Clarion, and his daughter Mona Lynn Hartle of Henryville, PA (in the Poconos). He is also survived by two grandsons, Brenton (Lauren) Andrew Hartle of Culpeper, VA and Tyler (Rhiannon) Benjamin Hartle of Bethlehem, PA. Also surviving are 4 great grandchildren, McKenna Rose, Adalyn Violet and Clara Jade Hartle of Virginia and Jayden of Bethlehem.
Fred is also survived by siblings, Thomas of Ohio, Dolores of Union City, Donna of Carnegie, and Ronald of Shippenville. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Patricia of Florida and Edward of Leeper. Also predeceasing Fred was his son-in-law Kevin Hartle of Henryville.
Friends and family will be received at Trinity Point Church of God, 180 West Trinity Drive Clarion, PA on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 11:00am to 3:00pm with funeral services beginning at 3:00pm conducted by Pastor Bruce Wilson. Interment will be in Clarion Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the building fund at Trinity Point Church of God.
