Shirley Irene Evans, born on September 23, 1935, in Hawthorn, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, at the Clarion Nursing and Rehab Center in Clarion, PA, at the age of 89. Her life was a testament to dedication, resilience, and love, leaving a remarkable legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Clarence R. Evans on June 19, 1954, a partnership marked by love and commitment until his passing on February 8, 2015. Together, they built a beautiful family, nurturing four sons with unwavering support and care.

Her professional life was marked by her work as a Medical Secretary at Clarion Hospital, where she served with diligence and compassion until her retirement. Shirley's commitment to her work and her community reflected her steadfast character and her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Clarence, a grandson Ryan Scott Evans, a granddaughter Arianna Renee Evans, and two brothers, Herbert and Don McAninch, Shirley remained a pillar of strength for her family. Her enduring spirit and unconditional love will be cherished and remembered by her surviving family, including her four sons and their spouses: Richard (Patty) Evans of New Bethlehem, Gregory (Nancy) Evans of Chesapeake, VA, Gary (Cindy) Evans of Brookville, and Bill (Laura) Evans of Tionesta.

Shirley's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Rani, Derick, Brady, Aaron, Heather, Amanda, Tanner, Lia, and Parker Evans, as well as Juan and Thomas Isaza of Colombia, South America. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Gwendolyn, Cassandra, Nathan, Fox, Remi, David, Gabriel, Madelyn, Helena and Owen Kim. Her sister, Phyllis Painter of Tennessee, also survives her, offering comfort and shared memories.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, as well as on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 330 Wood St, Clarion, PA. The service will be officiated by her son, William Evans, honoring Shirley's profound impact on her family and community.

Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Frogtown.

In remembering Shirley Irene Evans, we celebrate a life filled with love, kindness, and devoted service. Her memory will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known her, embodying a legacy of warmth and grace.
