Randy Hickson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasson Funeral Home - Siloam Springs on Jan. 6, 2024.
Randy "Rando" Richard Hickson, 63, passed away on January 4, 2024. He was born on February 19, 1960, in Onawa, Iowa, to Lester William Hickson and Marvel Lavonne (Ronfeldt) Hickson.
Randy was the definition of a true cowboy. He was a member of the WRCA, Chuck Wagon Racing Association, and would also volunteer at the kids' rodeos. He was a rancher, bull and bronc rider, cattle herder, singer, guitar player, and expert craftsman who could build anything from handmade knives to wagons. Randy was also an incredible dancer, who was so talented that he was listed in an auction just to win a dance with him. And his dancing is what brought him to his wife, Judy, when he danced with her to a country waltz. He was also an incredible storyteller, and his storytelling was revered amongst family and friends.
Randy was an old-school cowboy gentleman. He was the type of man to be known amongst his family and friends as a hero. This could be because he held strongly to his values and made sure he lived by them as well. Randy made sure to show respect and kindness to anyone he met, no matter who they were. And he would not hesitate to help those who needed it, no matter what. When asked if it was any trouble for him to help, he would simply reply, "It's all good." Randy also always made those around him feel important and loved. He was a pillar in his family and community, and his presence will be missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those that were lucky enough to know and love him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob Hickson and Rodney Hickson; sisters, Sherry Coe (Tom) and Chris Gotto; and grandson, Traver Walls
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Judy Hickson of the home; daughters, Shelly Condon (Josh) of Marshfield, MO, and Jamie King (James) of West Siloam Springs, OK; sons, Michael Hickson of Marshfield, MO, and Jarrod Shelley (Samantha) of West Siloam Springs, OK; brothers, Rick Hickson (Mary) of Decatur, AR, and Ron Hickson of Sulphur Springs, AR; sisters, Vicky Graves (Tom) of Decatur, AR, Becky Arnold (Roy) of Centerton, AR, and Terri Knox (CG) of Gentry, AR; seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Babs Hickson of Sioux City, IA; brother-in-law, Bill Gotto of Pierson, IA; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Daryl Knight, will be held at Wasson Funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Falling Springs Cemetery in Decatur, AR.
