Randy was born on July 31, 1958 in Caney, Kansas to Bob Hill and Carmanita Scott Hill. His family moved to Pampa in 1972. Randy attended Pampa High School before enlisting in the United States Navy in September of 1975. He was honorably discharged in 1981. Randy then attended the Texas State Technical Institute where he earned his degree in electronics. He married the love of his life, Aubrey Croxton, in July of 1999. Randy was a longtime member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Randy had a strong work ethic; he never called in sick and always made sure every job was done the right way. He worked at Curtis Oil Well, with his brother Richie, for a few years then later worked at National Oil Well. Randy eventually went to work for SWM for several years and finally Midwest Machine until his retirement in 2023.
Randy enjoyed golfing when he was able to. He also enjoyed reading books and liked everything from old westerns to science fiction and fantasy. Randy was exceptionally good at trivia and often played with his family, and the only person to ever beat Randy was his mom. He was an avid fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Randy had an eclectic taste in music, but his favorite was classic rock. However, he enjoyed time with family above everything else. He was a devoted brother and uncle, showing up for every holiday, recital, graduation, and birthday. Randy was a loving husband and was never happier than when he was with Aubrey. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Carmanita Hill; his wife of 24 years, Aubrey Hill; six siblings, Raymond Hill, Robin Hill Manzanares, Ronnie Hill, Robbie Hill, Rene Hill, and Richelle Hill Pierce; one brother-in-law and friend, Bruce Norris; and one niece, Miranda Rose Carmanita Hill.
He is survived by four siblings, Rhonda Hill, Richie Hill, and Renita Logan and husband Greg, all of Pampa, and Rhea Oeser and husband Jared of Muskogee, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; friend, Connie Estep; and a host of friends.
Randy’s family would like to thank Brenda McCullough and her staff for all the excellent care they showed Randy over the years. They would also like to thank the BSA Hospice of the Southwest for kindness and compassion they extended to Randy during his final days.
