Randy Mullenberg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hare Funeral Home - New Lisbon on Feb. 26, 2026.
Randy J. Mullenberg passed away on February 26th after battling cancer with courage, faith and grace. Randy was born on November 5, 1965, in Sparta, Wisconsin to Marvin and Janette Mullenberg. As a child, he moved to Mauston, where he spent the remainder of his life. Randy left behind a legacy of strength, service and a deep love for his family and friends. He was a proud veteran, devoted father and grandfather, beloved son and brother, and faithful servant of God.

Randy honorably served his country in the United States Army and Wisconsin Army National Guard for 27 years, including two overseas war time deployments. His time in the Military shaped the man he became - disciplined, dependable, and fiercely protective of those he loved. He carried that same sense of duty into every part of his life.

He was a proud father and grandfather, and nothing meant more to him than his children and grandson. He wore those titles with honor. Randy taught by example - work hard, stand your ground, protect your family and always show up when someone needs you. He had a passion to always leave the world better than he found it.

Randy felt most at peace outdoors. Winter mornings often found him ice fishing in his "Packer Shack" or riding his snowmobile. In warmer months he could be found boating on Castle Rock Lake, hitting the trails in his side by side, chasing the 30 pointer, or simply enjoying God's creation. The outdoors wasn't just a past time - it was where he connected with Faith, Family and Freedom. And all year long he was a devoted NASCAR fan.

Randy will be deeply missed by his mother Janette Mullenberg, his children Justin (Jenn) Mullenberg, Micaela (Matthew) Keating, Grace Mullenberg (Reid Clark); and grandson Kayden Keating, along with his siblings Kim (Jim) Reynebeau, Suzie (Kevin) Hoag, and Mike (Sarah) Mullenberg, and many nieces, nephews, Dawn, Nicole, Mason, and good friends.

Randy is proceeded in death by his father, Marvin Mullenberg and childhood friend John Hayden.

The family would like to thank the St. Croix Hospice Center and "Randy's Dream Team" (family and friends who took care to ensure he had quality of life while on hospice).

A service celebrating Randy's life and faith will be held on Wednesday, March 4th at St. Patrick's Church in Mauston. Visitation will take place from 9:30am to 12:00pm immediately followed by Mass of Christian Burial Service. Christian Burial with Military honors will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a donation to St. Patrick's Hunter's Night Out program would be appreciated.
