Randy Barfield Savi, 76, raised in Beech Island, SC, passed away on February 5, 2026, at home in Augusta, GA.
Randy was born in Vidalia, GA to Grace J. Wright and James E. Barfield on August 20, 1949. Randy and his husband, Nick Savi, have been partners for 54 years and were married on October 24, 2015, at the Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer in Augusta, GA. Randy attended school in Beech Island and Jackson, SC.
Randy was a gifted Floral Designer and an artist his entire life. He was involved in various community service organizations which included his volunteer work with the Downtown Cooperative Church Ministries and the Sacred Heart Cultural Center in Augusta. He was also a member of the North Augusta Artist Guild, the Augusta Pride Planning Committee and a beloved member of the Tuesday’s Painters Group in North Augusta, SC.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents Grace J. Wright and James E. Barfield, Sr., his brothers, Edward Barfield and Kenneth Barfield, and a sister, Christine B. Walker.
Randy is survived by his husband, Nick; his sister, Pat B. Macy; and brothers, Bill Barfield, Rick Barfield, Jimmy Barfield, and Jerry Wright. Randy has many beloved nieces and nephews, several of which he welcomed in his home. Randy will also be missed by several grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pop Pop Randy”.

The family of Randy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to those in Randy’s chosen family that love him as we do.
We would also like to extend our thanks and appreciation for the wonderful care given by Dr. Charlton J. Pickett, Dr. Arthur B. Chandler, and his hospice caregivers Ingrid, and the staff of Helping Hands Hospice.
A Memorial Service will be held at The Metropolitan Community Church of our Redeemer at two o’clock p.m. on February 22, 2026, with Pastor Marc Trimm, of The Metropolitan Community Church of Our Redeemer officiating. Also participating in the service are Bishop Greer Gosby and Reverend Andy Hunter.
