Randy E. Smith

Randy Smith age 66 passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 while doing what he loved best - driving his Corvette Convertible on a sunny day to the golf course to enjoy his favorite sport with friends. He was born March 10, 1947 in Canton, Ohio the son of Millard and Evelyn Smith. He graduated in 1965 from Canton South High School where he lettered and excelled in all sports. He proudly served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He retired from The Timken Company in 1996 after 30 years of service as a machinist. Preceded in death by his father, Millard Smith, he is survived by his mother, Evelyn Smith of Canton, Ohio; wife, Barbara; children, Michael (Courtland) Smith, of San Antonio, TX, Summer and Ryan Smith of Canton, Amy Nivert of Waynesburg, Joseph (Sharon) Nivert of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Marisa Daniels, Christian and Connor Mayfield, William and Madeline Nivert; sisters, Pam (Clint) Rooley of East Canton, Nancy (Tom) Abel of North Canton, Rebecca Abel of Canton and a brother, Mark (Lynn) Smith of Albuquerque, NM., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, May 13, 2013 at Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:30pm with Dr. John Geib, Dean, Logos Institute presenting a Eulogy. Per Randy's wishes he was a Lifebanc Donor which means his spirit lives on.
