George Randall “Randy” Trelles, a native of Columbia, SC and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the age of 61.  He graduated from Broadmoor High School, received his undergraduate degree at LSU and his J.D at Southern University.  He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Sigma Chi Fraternity, LSBA – Louisiana State Bar Association, and Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

He enjoyed running cross country, reading, sailing, hunting, fishing, roping, painting, and LSU sports.   Randy was a devoted father who enjoyed spending time coaching and supporting any activities his kids were involved in.

Randy was an all-around track star in high school and college.  While at LSU, he joined Sigma Chi Fraternity, where he made lifelong memories and friends.  He met his wife Melissa while still in college.  He then proposed to her at Fred’s Bar and Grill and went on to marry in 1992.   He loved helping people through his practice of law.  They spent 10 years traveling and enjoying life, and then decided to have two lovely children, Griffin and Molly.  Anyone who was a part of Randy’s life knows he will always be remembered for his love of Champ and Legs, seer sucker pants, and his love for fountain pens.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, George Randall Givens and Macrino Raoul Trelles, Jr.; grandparents, Ed Dale and Ruth Givens and Filo and Henry LaLuz; and his dear friends, Jim McCormack and Reid Bateman.

Randy is survived by his loving children, Griffin Trelles and Molly Trelles; his wife of 32 years, Melissa Trelles; mother, Aida “Kelly” Andre; siblings, Danielle Russell (Eddie), Georgia Nichols (David), Mack Trelles, and Aaron Givens; sister-in-law, Allison Mann (Dennis); numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Charles and Laurie Besselman, Rickey and Debbie Heroman, John and Michelle McClendon, Linn and Julie Fink, Richard and Becca Overton, Mike Keogh, Steve Trelles, Ed Lloyd, and Elizabeth Harris.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. until Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m.

The family would like to give special thanks to Laurie and Charlie Besselman, Allison and Dennis Mann, Rickey and Debbie Heroman, his brothers from Sigma Chi Fraternity, Elizabeth Harris, Sarah Still, Stephanie LaCroix, and Sarah Norwood Trouard.
