Scotty VanHooser, 54 year old Woodward resident, died Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Randy Scott VanHooser was born on December 13, 1969 in Gaylord, Michigan; he was the son of Darl Gene and Sharon Lee (Austin) VanHooser. Scotty relocated to Fort Supply, Oklahoma with his family at a young age. He attended Fort Supply Schools and graduated from Fort Supply High School in 1988. While in school Scotty became interested in music, and taught himself to play the drums. After graduation he began working at Western State Hospital as a mental health aide. After working 25 years at Western State he transferred to the Light House Substance Abuse program in Woodward. Scotty was united in marriage to Stephanie Ann Harper on July 20, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Woodward.
Scotty spent his free time with family and friends, he enjoyed video games and watching the Kansas City Chiefs play.
Scotty is survived by his wife Stephanie of the home; brother, Kelly VanHooser and wife Angie, their children, Piper and Paicey all of Seiling; sisters, Laurie Watson and husband Monte, their son, Cody all of Freedom; Mandy Cox and husband Joe, their children, Zander and Tobi all of Mooreland; mother-in-law, Glenda Harper of Woodward; sister-in-law, Londa Roberts and husband J.P., their son, Zane of Navare, Florida; brother-in-law, Chris Harper and wife Rachel of Edmond; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon VanHooser; nephew, Thatcher VanHooser; father-in-law, Larry Harper.
