Randy White peacefully passed into his eternal home on July 12th at the Yampa Valley Medical Center. He was surrounded by love and family as his 8 month courageous battle against a debilitating disease came to a conclusion. In typical fashion, Randy once again lead from the front as he absorbed each and every reversal in stride and looked for other avenues. This had been his method of operation throughout his life and nothing changed.
He leaves a legacy of achievement, generosity, kindness, inspiration, and concern for his fellow man, that is rare. He joined the Army after High School and qualified for Special Forces Training in which he excelled and was awarded his beret.
Upon release from the Army, he was employed by NASA where his capabilities were recognized by others and this resulted in a position on the bottom rung of The Reynolds Aluminum ladder. Thirty years later he retired from Reynolds while in charge of 18 of their plants spanning America, the country he dearly loved. He failed retirement and moved on to two more companies where he was President of one and CEO of another. His last stop yielded amazing results as he completely turned around a large manufacturing company in Sarasota, FL, and was beloved by their 3000 employees.
Randy met the love of his life, Gail Beane, at Stokers atop Mt. Werner on a guys' ski trip in 1990. Ensuing events unfolded and they were married on July 4, 1992, at their beautiful home in Strawberry Park. This event has been celebrated in that same location, with or without their presence, every year since with an ever growing Independence Day Party.
Gail and Randy have meant so much to so many along their journey together and they have much to take pride in. However, the mere mention of their family is what lights up their hearts. Their blended family is comprised of 3 sons, one daughter, 4 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Nothing eclipses the broad smiles appearing when their grandchildren and or their great grandchild is a topic of conversation.
"D Dad" and "G Mom" have much to be proud of and Randy's life can be summed up in two words "WELL DONE!"
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
