Raquel Lita Aragon

Raquel Lita Aragon, age 52, resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away in her home on Sunday, July 21st, 2024. 

Ms. Aragon was born February 10th, 1972 in Albuquerque, NM, to Francisco and Anna Aragon, she was the oldest of four children. She lived a life full of love and compassion for her family and friends, most importantly, her two girls Victoria & Elizabeth. She enjoyed traveling to Northern NM to participate in events like Bean Day in the Village of Wagon Mound where her father was from. She loved Spanish and country music and attending live concert events. 

She was born and raised in Albuquerque’s North Valley, attended St. Therese Catholic School, Valley High School (Class of 1990), TVI, and later attended Carrington College. In 1991, she and Richard J. Archuleta had their oldest daughter Victoria, married in 1992, and in 2009 had their youngest daughter Elizabeth. She was a devoted mother to her children. 

Raquel proudly served over ten years in the United States Army National Guard, worked over fifteen years at JCPenney in the Cottonwood Mall, and entered into the healthcare field before returning to retail management. 

She is survived by her mother Anna M. Aragon; husband, Richard J. Archuleta; daughters, Victoria & Elizabeth Archuleta; siblings, Francisco “Frank” Aragon, Jr., Fernando Aragon, and Margarita Escobar (Aragon) & husband Allen; nieces and nephews, Vanessa Aragon & son Santiago Mendez, Jesiel Almeida, Josiah Almeida, & Elias Escobar; and many more family and friends. 

Ms. Aragon was preceded in death by father Francisco “Frank” W. Aragon, Sr. and beloved grandmother, Isabel Medina (Lara). 

A visitation for will be held on Thursday, August 1st, 2024 from 5:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at Trujillo Family Funeral Home, 110 Alvarado Drive, SE, Albq., NM, 87108, with a rosary to be recited from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m on Friday, August 2nd, 2024 at Saint Therese Catholic Church, 3424 4th St., NW, Albq., NM, 87107. 

Pallbearers will be Fernando Aragon, Francisco Aragon, Anthony Casas, Fabian Navarro, Allen Escobar, Josiah Almeida, and Ruben Santistevan.
