GARCIA
Raquel G. Garcia, 66, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 24, 1959, in
Alice, Texas, to her parents, Manuel P. and Romana V. Gonzalez. Raquel, better known to many as Rachel, was an active and devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Freer, Texas. On April 1, 2011, she became a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court #2243, Immaculate Mary's Heart. Her deep love for helping others and her generous spirit were evident in the way she lived the CDA motto, "Unity and Charity." Rachel was especially committed to serving children. She faithfully taught Religious Education to kindergarten students and later served for many years as an assistant to the Religious Education Coordinator at St. Mary's Parish. She also lovingly cooked, cleaned, and cared for Fr. Iglesias, whom she dearly loved. Her caring "heart of gold" made Rachel a loving person, a loyal friend, and a dedicated Sister in Christ. She knew no strangers and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, she proudly supported her team with enthusiasm and joy. Rachel will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of faith, service, and kindness will live on in the hearts of many.
