Rasaundra Matlock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by F.L. Sims Funeral Home-White Columns Chapel - Mableton/Austell on Jan. 4, 2026.
Rasaundra "Sonya" Matlock was born August 26, 1988, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Patricia (Woods) Grey and the late Ezell Woods, Jr. She has three siblings, including Rodrick Woods (Megan), Patrisa Matlock, and Demond Matlock (Brande). Sonya was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecil and Leanna Matlock and Ezelle Sr., and Flora Woods.
Sonya spent the majority of her childhood in Mountain Pine, Arkansas, where she attended Mountain Pine Jr. High School. She accepted the Lord and was baptized as a young child and attended PowerPoint Christian Ministries in Hot Springs, Arkansas (Pastors Bennie and Jacci McKinney), where she was an active member of the Club U-Turn Youth Ministry and a member of the Praise Dance ministry.
In the fall of 2002, she relocated to Mableton, Georgia, with her mother and siblings, and attended Osborn High School. On November 22, 2013, Sonya and Bryan Sullivan, Sr. welcomed their son, Bryan Charles Sullivan, Jr., into the world. On July 2, 2016, Patricia married, netting Sonya a "bonus" father (Orville Grey) and a "bonus" brother (Damain Grey (Audriana).
Sonya worked a variety of jobs, including Sally's Beauty Supply, America's Best, and Bella's Beauty Supply. She was a member of Life Changers Outreach Ministries (Apostles Bennie and Jacci McKinney), where she continued to share her gift and passion of praise dancing. When she was not working, she often volunteered at the Chosen Vessels of God Food Pantry in Dallas, Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor Margaret Parker.
In her free time, Sonya enjoyed binge-watching her favorite TV shows, playing games on her phone, and spending quality time with her son. She had a quirky sense of humor and made numerous friends along the way. Sonya enjoyed attending Sunday morning services and midweek Bible study, and serving her community through the Food Pantry as her schedule permitted.
In addition to her immediate family, Sonya leaves to cherish her memory a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be tremendously missed.
