Rashard, best known as RJ, was an angel on earth - a light in a dark world. He was kind, respectful, and a natural leader who was never afraid to try new things and pursue his dreams. Anything he set his mind to, he accomplished. RJ was a protector who deeply loved his family and friends.
He was not perfect, as no one is, but to his mother he was the perfect son, and to his siblings, the perfect brother. RJ was health-conscious and loved spending time at the gym and playing basketball. In his free time, RJ enjoyed cracking jokes with his family, eating his favorite meal Popeyes and Chipotle, doing family game nights, and going on "side quests" with his close friend group.
In recent months, RJ took his walk with God to another level. Knowing that he gave his life to the Lord on his own terms brings his loved one's comfort and peace.
RJ attended Eastmoor Academy High School, where he was an honor roll student, played football, and ran track throughout his entire high school career. After graduating, he attended Columbus State Community College and the IEC program, where he began pursuing a career as an electrician and working hard toward building a bright future for himself.
RJ was greeted in heaven by his father, Richard Ivan Brown Jr.; grandparents Darryl and Minnie Bryant; paternal grandmother Catherine White; great-grandparents; and many beloved relatives who went before him, including his aunt Latrisha Bryant. They now rejoice together in eternal peace.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Monique Brown; sisters Moniqua K. Brown (Aaron Miller) and Shalanda Raglin; brother Richard I. Brown III; nephews Wesley Hubbard III and Dante McCollins Jr.; and grandfather Richard I. Brown Sr.
RJ is survived by a host of aunts and uncles, many of whom he shared a special and loving bond with. The family would especially like to acknowledge the deep and meaningful connection RJ shared with his aunt Yolanda Goodwin and his uncle Darryl Bryant. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, with special mention of Mahiya Conley, with whom he shared a uniquely close and loving bond.
