Raul Class Obituary
SCHENECTADY - Raul Class "Pop," 81, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, January 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Raul was born and raised in Bronx, N.Y., he then went on to graduate from Baptist Bible College. After graduation, he went on to become a Master Carpenter and retired from the Massachusetts Carpenters Union. Once retired, Raul decided he was not going to be fully retired and went to work for Umbrella in Schenectady County. Raul was a member of the Sonrise Bible Church, Schenectady, N.Y.
Raul was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan, loved to Zumba with friends and he Zumba'd till he couldn't. Raul was beloved by many and found immense joy being with family and friends.
Raul was predeceased by his parents, Angel and Lupe (Cruz-Mendez) Class; his son, Ryan Class; and his sister, Gloria Rodriguez (Valle).
Raul is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jean (Donaruma) Class; his sister, Hilda Torres; his son, Eddie (Mary Alice) Class; Jean's children, Nicole Conlin and Robert Knapik; his grandchildren, Alex (Serenity) Class, Jennifer (Jay) Mentiply, Angel Class; his great-grandchildren, Danny Olmstead, JJ Mentiply, Madison Mentiply, and Nolan Ryan Class.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Raul's family Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, N.Y. 12206, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Raul's Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m., in the funeral home. Please enter funeral home from rear parking lot entrance only.

As a fellow handyman working for Umbrella, I had the good fortune to meet Raul "on the job" and quickly became aware of his great skills and tremendous value to his many customers. He was beloved by all and was an inspiration to me - and I´m sure many others as well. He will be sorely missed!!

Dear Angel and Ruthann,
Yet another loss, it seems almost unbelievable. You will as always, be in my thoughts and prayers. Raul was such a special person and I am sure will be missed by many. Our faith reassures us of a reunion at a time to be determined, not only with our soul mates but with God.
