Raul Perez, 54, entered eternal rest Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his residence in San Juan.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, he lived in San Juan most of his life. Raul was a 7th grade Texas History teacher and coach at Jaime Escalante Middle School in Pharr.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Norma Linda Perez.
Raul is survived by his wife, Araceli Perez; two daughters, Brianna Kay (Damian) Torres, Nicole Marie Perez; three grandchildren, Elijah, Ella, and Damian Santos Torres; his father, Jaime Perez Sr.; his mother, Esther Perez; five siblings, Diana (Dagoberto) Estrada, Jaime (Patricia Yvonne) Perez Jr., Joseph (Tina Brown) Perez, John (Miki McCarthy) Perez, Jorge Perez; and nieces and nephews, Miranda Jude Perez, Jennifer (Benjamin) Smith, Mina (Jason) Richards, Benito Garza Jr., Abel (Mariselda) Ureste Jr., Norma (Benito) Garza, and Diana (Mario Lizcano) Parrao.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
