Cheryl Perez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge on Feb. 28, 2026.
After a courageous 14 month journey battling pancreatic cancer our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Daughter Cheryl Terae Kennedy Perez has been called Home to the side of Jesus. Cheryl was the heart of our beautiful family that she and her husband, Mario formed 31 years ago. With Cheryl's big beautiful heart leading the way we soon became a family with no labels, no lines of division, no "Hers" and "His", no Step Children – just "Ours". A life filled with joy and laughter and a welcoming spirit where no one was a stranger. Our house was the site of many family reunions during Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday parties and Backyard Spurs watching parties. She spent many years working in the demanding world of Real Estate as an Escrow Officer and Closer. True happiness came when she was able to retire in 2022. She was able to devote time to her yard, pool and most importantly the 4-legged creatures that passed by our home – cats, dogs, deer and even raccoons that she really didn't like. She truly had a heart of gold. Cheryl was preceded in death by her Father, Jerry Kennedy, Brother, Michael Kennedy and Brother-in-law, Daniel Rivera. She is survived by her loving Mother, Kay Kennedy; her adoring Husband, Mario Perez and all of their Children, James Linder and husband, Matt, Michelle Barrett, Michael Barrett, Stephanie Perez and wife, Clarissa and Mario Perez; grandchildren, Elizabeth Barrett and Tao Wood; Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Siblings-in-law that all knew her and loved her. She is also survived by all of her beloved animals, Cry Baby, Chico, Lucy, Tumba, and all the deer that came up to our fence waiting to be fed their corn.
