Roberta Joyce Duncan

Roberta Joyce Hanel Duncan, 79, of Lytle, Texas, passed away. She was born on December 9, 1946, in Liberty, Texas, to George Sr. and Clydelle Hanel.

Roberta was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a remarkable talent for sewing and baking. If you needed something altered or sewn, she could do it with skill and care. Her jams, jellies, cookies, pies, and other candies were beloved by all who tasted them. During Christmas time, she joyfully played Ms. Claus to help with family photos with Santa, spreading holiday cheer.

She is survived by her four children: Newton Barta, Kimberly Barta, Tina Duncan, and Andrea Duncan; her brothers and sister: George Jr., Jack and Brenda; and her grandchildren, including two sets of twins: DJ, Stone, David, Jacob, Logan, Gauge, Luke, Trey, and Langston. She is preceded in death by her brothers Douglas and Walter and her grandson Ethen.

Roberta chose to be cremated, and while there will be no formal service, the family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date to honor her memory.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, warmth, and the joy she brought to her family and friends.
