It is with great sadness that the family of Raul Ernesto Zuleta announces his unexpected passing on Friday, February 17, 2023, at the young age of 47.
Raul is survived by his parents, Cenide and Luiz Zuleta, his brother Francisco Zuleta; his niece Sara Zuleta; his nephew, Antonio Zuleta; his beloved girlfriend, Salomé Rodriguez and her son Alex Rodriguez.
Raul was born on March 11, 1975, in Cali, Colombia. Him and his family moved to Acworth, Georgia in 1988 and though he lived in Acworth most of his life, he also lived briefly in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Etowah HS, earned an associate degree in Graphic Design from Truman College and a bachelor's degree in Project Management from ITT Tech.
Raul was a proud veteran, having served in the US Army, active duty from 1998-2001. He trained in the National Training Center in Ft. Irwin, CA in the Mohave Desert (Death Valley).
Raul was an animal lover with his dachshund, Hershey and his cat Snickers being in the center of his heart, and he still mourned for his beloved cat, Jack Jack. Both Hershey and Snickers were spoiled rotten and will miss him terribly.
Raul was a collector of collections and enjoyed discovering new items. His collections included, Coca-Cola, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Hershey items, Snickers items, Pac-Man, shot glasses, lanyards, movies, Volkswagens, superhero action figures and comic books.
Everyone that knew Raul, knew he was a wonderful man. He was handsome, kind, gentle and an all-around nice guy. He was quick with a smile and enjoyed making people happy. He enjoyed staying in contact with people, all the way from his classmates in Colombia to several of his coworkers from his previous jobs. Everyone he knew at one point received a video, meme or an image of something they liked because at one point they had mentioned it to Raul.
Raul will be missed; he leaves a huge void in our hearts. We know heaven has earned an angel, but his presence will still be missed on earth.
His life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Lakeside Funeral Home, Woodstock, Georgia. Visitation will be at 12pm followed by a ceremony at 1pm.
