Ray Thomas Aiken, age 90 of Maysville entered heaven Friday August 11, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side.
Ray was born March 30, 1933 in Atlanta to the late Robert Melvin & Nancy Hope Joiner. He served his country in the United States Navy & retired from At & t Communications with a number of years of service. Ray was a gifted musician and bass singer. He played with the Songmasters, sang with the Shepard's Men & the Homeland boys. He was so happy when he got to serve the Lord with his talents. He loved reading the Bible, and working on the farm with his wife, Reba. He loved his family and he will be missed deeply. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Merck; son in law, Eddy Brown; brothers, Norman Aiken, Bob Aiken & Bill Aiken, sisters, Sarah Mullis, Nancy Leach & Margie Lord.
Left to cherish precious memories, wife, Reba Moore Aiken; daughter, Heather (Johnny) Moreland; Lori Ann (Thomas) Martin, Robin Brown & Robert "Gip" Holland, II; grandchildren, Kaylee, Ashlyn, Logan, Cody; great grandchild, Calum; a number of nieces, nephews & other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Gooch & Rev. John Wayne Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park in Commerce. The family will receive friends form 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday August 14, 2023 at the funeral home.
