Ray Edward Fake, 83, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on February 23, 2026 in Catonsville, MD.
Born on June 1, 1942, in East Prospect, PA, Ray was the son of Nathaniel Fake and Mildred (Witmer) Fake.
Ray honorably served in the United States Navy on board the USS Harwood from 1960 to 1966. Following his military service, he devoted 32 years of his career to the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a Print Operator and Team Lead.
Ray was known for his gentle heart, warm smile, and sense of humor. A devoted father, he consistently put his family before himself. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to his garden, and visiting his favorite casino.
Ray is survived by his son, Joshua Fake of Catonsville, MD; his brother, Ronald Fake of Harrisburg, PA; his sister-in-law, Linda Fake-Fischer of Hellam, PA; and his brother-in-law, George Mohr of Elkridge, MD.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie (Mohr) Fake; his son, Thane Fake; and his brother, Jay Fake.
A private ceremony for family will be held in Pennsylvania in Ray’s honor.
