Raymond Ray Lexia Jr.

Raymond Ray Lexia Jr. died in an automobile accident on Monday, August 26, 2024, in Fourth Ward, Livingston Parish. He was on his way home from the job he held for 20 years as an Engineer Tech with the Louisiana Department of Transportation. When he wasn't at work, "Ray Ray", as he was affectionately known, liked to be outdoors hunting and fishing with Carson and Camryn and watching Carson play baseball. He was a devoted husband and family man who enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his "baby girl" Camryn and his wife Joni. He was funny, generous, and talented with tools of all kinds. He had the biggest heart, and his children encompassed his whole world. He had been married to his high school sweetheart for 20 years, and they were still as much in love as the day married. Ray is survived by his loving wife Joni Lexia; daughter, Camryn Lexia; son, Carson Lexia; parents, Susan and Daniel Holden; mother-in-law Jennifer Cunningham (Don), father-in-law Jackie Purvis (Gwen), brother, Keith Nicolosi; grandfather and step-grandmother, D.T. and Laverne Yates; brothers-in-law Jacob Purvis (Tina), Joshua Purvis (Kayla), and Duke Cunningham (Amanda), sisters-in-law Bridget Reyes, Donielle Fenton (Kyle), and Claire Michel (Rick); nieces and nephews Alyssa, Calleigh, Bracelyn, Emma (Kris), Ethan, Jonah, Jeremiah, Johanna, Jaden, Jace, Bryson, Dreyeton, Presley, Harleigh, Shelby, Lathan, Austin, Alissa, Alden, Nova, Skye, and Cameron; and great-nephew Levi. Preceded by his maternal grandmother, Doris Thompson Creel and brother-in-law Blane Purvis. Pallbearers are Jeff Rooney, Ben Wolfe, Jacob Purvis, Duke Cunningham, Dylan Cunningham, and Dewayne Crayton. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Nicolosi and Joshua Purvis. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy. 190 West, Hammond, LA on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Gary Dennis and Pastor Matt Jones will officiate with an interment to follow in Old Zion Hill Cemetery.
