Ray Carroll McPeak passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 31, 2025 at Edgewood Assisted Living, Fruitland, ID. Ray was born March 20, 1936 in Crivitz, Wisconsin to Dorsey and Martha Schneider McPeak. He was soon joined by two sisters, Virginia, and Nancy. Ray spent his childhood on the place his grandparents homesteaded. He graduated from Crivitz High School in 1954. While still in high school, Ray began his career in Radio and Television repair. He had a shop near his father's blacksmith shop in Crivitz. He met Betty Baker in 1959, and the couple were married in McAllister, WI on October 29, 1960. Soon Wayne joined the family, followed by Perry. When Perry was 3 months old, the family loaded up and moved to Oregon. Salem was their first stop, with Ray working in a radio repair shop. They soon moved to Carlton, where Ray had his own shop repairing radios and tv's, and installing tv antennas. Ray and Betty worked side by side installing antenna's, with Ray on the roof and Betty in the house, talking on walkie-talkies. Ray and his father-in-law built a house for the family on the small farm. In 1975, the family sold the farm and moved just outside McMinnville. In 1976, they loaded up again and moved to what Betty called "the god-forsaken desert". Ray built a dairy barn and began milking cows. In 1985, he sold the cows and began doing repair work on pretty much anything. Betty passed away in April, 1991.

Ray was delivering appliances for Sears in 1998, when he made a delivery to Paula Taylor, a teacher. The rest is history. Ray and Paula sold their respective places and bought a beautiful small acreage outside of Payette, ID. They loved their little place. They could be found working out in the shop, Ray tinkering, Paula cutting metal art. They did some traveling, the most memorable being an Alaskan Cruise and a special trip to Wisconsin. They loved attending auctions, bringing home a lot of treasures. They enjoyed many years of doing fun things and spending time together.

Ray enjoyed seeing his grandkids and great-grandkids at every holiday and birthday. Ray is survived by his love, Paula Taylor; his son, Perry (Kelli); grandchildren David (Jerry), Shana Franklin (Mike), Sarah Martin (Bobby), and great-grandkids Chase, Gia, Landon and Collin; and several cousins back in Wisconsin whom he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by Betty, his parents, Dorsey and Martha, sister Virginia, sister Nancy, and son Wayne. No services will be held at his request. Interment will be at Owyhee Cemetery, Nyssa, Oregon. The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living, Fruitland for their loving care given to Dad.
